| We use Zoom as our preferred office bleaching protocol. Office bleaching like Zoom!, by nature uses high concentrated gels and usually requires 3-4 sessions to optimally bleach the teeth. Each appointment requires about 1 hour, utilizing various energy sources e.g. intense lights or laser to expedite the process. However, we have found that relying 100% on in-office bleaching therapies like Zoom!, the patient has no way to maintain the result. To optimize your teeth whitening results, we have pioneered a gold standard for teeth bleaching and dental whitening which combines the in-office procedure, Zoom! with custom in-home bleaching methods. This gold standard that we pioneered incorporates one session of office bleaching with Zoom! which completes about 30% of the tooth whitening process and is followed by taking home a custom bleaching kit to complete the procedure. This technique allows the patient to complete the entire process in a matter of days, is cost effective with ability to continue maintenance is possible. The gold standard for home bleaching uses custom-made mouth trays only. The benefits of these custom-made dental trays keep the gel in contact with the teeth the entire time. They are made to fit each individual's mouth. This decreases the likelihood of any bleaching agent either being swallowed or seeping onto and irritating the gum tissue. Weaker gel takes much longer and depending on your sensitivity, it could be an unpleasantly long journey.
