Summary:
Vicki presented in our office complaining about her smile.
Evaluation:
Vicki’s cosmetic deficiency was a result of wearing and discoloration over time which is a common problem everyone faces as they grow older. In order to correct problems of this magnitude, a design of what can be achieved must be created in order to determine the extent of the necessary treatment. This is accomplished by developing a computer simulation and from this the patient can decide if they will engage in all or part of the proposed therapy.
What we did:
Vickie decided that she only wanted to correct her upper 8 front teeth with restorations and bleach her remaining teeth. She underwent bleaching and then the placement of temporary veneers and crowns for the upper front 8 teeth, manufactured to match her previous design. Once she was happy with this look, her temporaries were replaced with custom porcelain restorations, matching the shape of her temporaries and the color she had desired.
Result:
Vicki was aware that she still had areas of cosmetic deficiencies that would need to be addressed in order to correct her entire cosmetic disability. She was extremely pleased with her result, yet is entertaining the desire to proceed with further cosmetic treatment to complete her smile. |
