Summary:
Patricia presented in our office upset about her smile that had been recently restored.

Evaluation:
Upon examination it was revealed that Patricia had restorations placed on her upper front 8 teeth that displayed a shape, position and color that not only was unacceptable to the patient, but did not fall in lines with the normal esthetic parameters needed in order create an attractive and natural smile.

What we did:
In order to determine exactly what Patricia desired, a computer simulation was designed. This was extremely important for this patient as we have to redo recently placed restorations and need to reassure Patricia that she was not going to end up again with an unacceptable result. Following this protocol, Patricia’s existing restorations were removed and customized temporary restorations were fabricated to her desired specifications and placed on her upper front teeth to determine if they met her expectations. Once this was confirmed, her temporary restorations were removed and replaced with customized porcelain veneers at a later visit.

Result:
While regretful that she did not start out in our office, she was happy that we were able to save her smile and make it the way she envisioned it in the first place.
