| Previously placed cosmetic dentistry failed. Natural teeth were bleached and with custom porcelain veneers having all the characteristics the patient desired. | |||||||||
| Summary: Judi presented with a cosmetic problem that is becoming more and more common; that being the failure of previously placed cosmetic dentistry. Evaluation: In Judi’s case, she had her upper 6 teeth restored with porcelain veneers, which when originally placed, were too thick, had an unflattering color and lacked translucency. Another common mistake was that her natural smile shows more teeth then the amount treated with porcelain veneers and her natural teeth do not match with her veneers. What we did: In order to attain a beautiful result that Judi desired a smile design was created with the aid of doing a computer simulation incorporating the cosmetic features Judi was looking for. From the smile design, it was determined what size and shape best suited Judi’s teeth, and then her natural teeth were bleached followed by 8 temporary veneers being fabricated and placed onto her upper front teeth having all the characteristics Judi desired. Once Judi was happy with her new look, her temporary restorations were removed and replaced with customized porcelain veneers matching the form of her temporaries along with incorporating the color the patient desired plus blending in with her natural bleached teeth. Result: Judi now enjoys an extremely natural and attractive smile. |
